The Memorial Hall

The Memorial Hall

MUSEUM

The Memorial Hall is located at the bottom of the High Street, situated in the Town Square.

Shropshire Council rents the premises from the Town Council and occupies the space with the Much Wenlock Museum and Visitor Information Centre.

Much Wenlock Museum has been refurbished with financial assistance from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Shropshire Council. The new displays tell the story of the town and surrounding area, the links between Dr. William Penny Brookes and the Modern Olympic Games, and the geology of Wenlock Edge.

Described by Mark Rowe of the Independent newspaper as “…one of the world’s great little museums.”

The visitor information centre is located in the museum, making the ideal starting point for your visit to the area.  Our staff will help you with your enquiries about attractions and events, days out and places to stay.
